Yes, yes and yes!
I think animal prints will always be in style! I’m sure you’ve seen them all over Pinterest. You probably already have one or several animal printed pieces in your wardrobe. If you haven’t any, you really need to add something stat. Not because they are on trend, but because most have become classics and mix and match much easier than you might think.
We added a few animal prints to our collection, but not your usual suspects. Don’t get me wrong, I have always been a fan of Zebra and Leopard. I still covet my leopard jacket that I bought at a thrift store when I was in college. You can just tell it’s classic vintage, from the 3/4 sleeves and the cut to the fabric. I love using it in photoshoots, literally for the like the last 10 years, because let’s face it, it’s still so stylish! But I gotta tell ya, Cheetah is my new official favorite!
I think the number one reason it’s my favorite out of all them, is because to me it is more of a modern print than the rest. Plus, the simplicity of the spots makes it much easier to mix and match with prints. I feel so confident and classy when I wear mine and to be honest I feel a little younger than my 50 years and more stylish than when I wear even a Leopard print. It’s time to leave those mini leopard print skirts to the 20-somethings.
Before I started making my handbags and accessories with Cheetah, I don’t think I ever thought about the difference between Cheetah and Leopard. I see articles and hear women get them mixed up all the time now and it kinda drives me nuts…LOL. Granted, what I discovered was if you do a google search for “Cheetah,” basically everything Leopard comes up, so now I get why everyone is so confused. Here’s a visual if that’s easier for you:
Basically the Cheetah spots aren’t as complex as the Leopard, which tend to look like a black doughnut or horseshoe. There is usually a brown spot in the center of the black ring. Leopard is probably the most common type of spotted cat used in prints for clothing and accessories, that’s another reason to love Cheetah, as I like to stand out from the crowd.
I think because the spots aren’t as complex is the reason you can mix and match Cheetah with prints. Look how cute it looks with Catherine’s cherry print dress below. Go ahead and be bold with your styling especially this year! We even made cool Cheetah cuffs and mini crossbody bags if you just want to add just a little wow to your look.
Here are a few stying tips for Cheetah:
Basically when styling a Cheetah print you can almost view it as a solid neutral. You can pair it with any color, but I would suggest in the mid-range on the color spectrum, like a rich color vs. anything too bright or too pastel. If you are feeling bold, you can go bright, but also try mixing with stripes, a geometric, polka dot or simple print, like the cherry dress. It looks great with denim too! Think classic white button up with boot cut denim and strappy heels with your Cheetah bag = 100% classic style at its best.
So if you want to feel sassy and make a statement, then cheetah is your go-to print out of all the animal prints. Are you with me?
Next up on our list is a snake print…A snake print screams confident and sexy. Be on the look out for that this holiday season!
