Handbags and Charity

Last summer, I mainly focused on the basics of recording charity requests and emailing with them. But the opportunity to be more hands-on for the entire process from start to finish was so much more exciting than I thought it would be! I got to test out my organization skills, as well as photoshop.

Charity is NOT just receiving requests and sending out handbags. I’ll walk you through the process!

We usually base what we donate on a few key pieces of information. We want to make sure the charity is getting the most money they can by donating what we think their supporters will love. So we take into consideration the venue, the demographic/amount of attendees and whether or not we have donated to them in the past. There are a few we donate to every year, so we want to make sure we switch it up.

Along with the donation, we create display sheets and handpick some promotional postcards to send along for the event. It’s our way of introducing the brand to the attendees who may have never heard of us before.

We include info about the handbag style, it’s specific leather and our mission statement, so they learn more about us and our products value. Of course, we hope attendees take the postcards home so they can discover more about us via our website.

From Hawaii to locally in Chicago, we have the amazing opportunity of being able to donate our beautiful handbags to an array of organizations that raise money for large charities to even local ones. Last month, I was even able to hand deliver our donation to PAWS Chicago for their Animal Magnetism event! This doesn’t always happen since most of our requests aren’t as close to home.

Of course, we try our best to donate to everyone but with a limited amount of handbags, it isn’t always possible. If we are unable to fulfill a request, we usually recommend reaching out to us again at a later time. We try to do everything we can to help when it comes to giving back since philanthropy is an important part of Brynn’s business.

So far this year, we have been able to donate to amazing charities like PAWS Chicago, the Women’s Foundation of Genessee Valley and more. There’s no better feeling than knowing you’ve made a positive impact on those who are less fortunate. It means so much for Brynn to be able to give back and help raise money, as some organizations hit close to home for her. As an animal lover and owner of 2 adopted cats, Brynn loves being a part of charities like PAWS and Tree House Humane Society!

It’s been a busy month to say the least, so being able to keep up with our charity work can be quite the task. With spring and summer arriving, more and more events are starting to happen, so staying organized helps me stay on top of deadlines and dates. It’s the worst thing ever to say yes and then miss sending out the handbag!

I think it’s so awesome that we are able to be a part of so many meaningful organizations, not only in Chicago, but around the entire country. We are so excited for all the upcoming events that our handbags will be featured in this year!
