The Ins and Outs of E-commerce!

eocmmerceDay to day I have a bunch of different tasks at my internship. Sometimes I’m researching and communicating with potential and current boutiques, prepping for the newsletter or updating our E-commerce sites. E-commerce is so important for anyone’s business today. Obviously people are still going to shop at brick and mortar stores, but no one can deny that e-commerce is slowly taking over.

Brynn Capella handbags are sold on Handmade at Amazon, HandbagDesigner101, Etsy and Circle and Square, just to name a few, and one of my jobs is to update those sites regularly to help increase traffic and sales. The key is for each partner to address a separate audience. So my job is to make sure the products are different with each partner but still create a cohesive overall look.

Something I learned in the classroom, and am now applying to real life, is the importance of keywords and SEO. Keywords will help lead people to your specific product when they’re shopping online. If someone searches ” brown leather handbag” on any search engine, we want our bag to be the first one that pops up or at least on the first page. The other important thing is SEO, which is similar to keywords, but it stands for Search Engine Optimization and helps us find the best keywords to use for each specific product.

Just a reminder, but I’m sure you’ve already seen advertisements, July 11th is Amazon prime day  and our bags are definitely a part of it. Our sales on our bags will be unbeatable, you won’t want to miss it. Be sure to stop by and get your beautiful Italian Leather handbag.

Along with updating our e-commerce websites, I’ve also been helping Brynn launch the new website. During the past couple of weeks, we’ve been on the administrator end and adding bags and making sure all of our pictures are of the best quality, inventory numbers are correct and more. I really love learning all the ins and outs of e-commerce, and actually applying topics I’ve learned in the classroom to my internship!

So when you are online this weekend and celebrating american-made goods, be sure to check out the new Brynn Capella website, to see all the same great bags, with just a little more updated look and feel!
