My anticipation for award shows stems from my love for fashion and exquisite gowns that I can only dream of owning. The Academy Awards is known for being the award show where celebrities dress to the hundreds; they clearly pull out all of the stops and showcase their connections with designers that often custom make the garments for them.
But of course my favorite is seeing the hits and misses of the Red Carpet.
Emma Stone looked absolutely stunning last Sunday night at the 87th Annual Academy Awards. A shimmery, mustard yellow Elie Saab gown fit her petite frame perfectly, while still adding a touch of sexiness with a thigh high slit in the front. Although Stone looked remarkable walking down the red carpet, I couldn’t help but still lust over her casual everyday style. Since Stone’s casual wear is usually comfy, chic I thought the Nikki in English Channel would be perfect for her travels overseas with British boyfriend, Andrew Garfield. I love how the color goes with her hair, whether it’s blonde, red, or even brunette.
Although Jennifer Aniston wasn’t nominated for her performance in Cake, she walked the Red Carpet like the gracious woman she is. Her nude Versace gown was beautifully understated and she was simply glowing. Can you believe she’s 46?! Although I was enamored with the beading detail on her gown, Jennifer’s everyday California casual look is stunning as well. Seeming to be a tee shirt and jeans kind of gal, I pictured her with the Lauren in Sandstone. The taupe colored bag would be perfect for her busy days, allowing lots of room to store goodies as she travels from set to set.
Julianne Moore wore a gorgeous, white sequined embellished gown designed for her by the ever-talented Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. White flowers with black sequined centers adorned the top, waistline, and bottom edge of her gown. I thought the gown complimented her timeless style, which is something Moore conveys in her everyday wear. We always see her with a satchel which is why I thought the Pamela in Rustic Clay would be perfect as her everyday bag. The classic, neutral coloring would go well with her complexion, while still adding color to her wardrobe.
