With the holidays quickly approaching, we have been spending a lot of time updating the merchandise on our various e-commerce sites! I’ve discovered what an important addition this is to any designer, from the huge online exposure to the sales potential with a whole new audience. Merchandising has been a really important aspect of choosing which bags to include on which sites. This process includes going through past holiday collections and choosing the bags that will look good with the current selections and more.
Of course, promotion is the other huge part of getting e-commerce holiday ready. We’ve been stepping up our hashtag game to create awareness for our customers and followers in our posts. We use those hashtags in a slew of daily promotional posts, just this week I created a Polyvore image for Holiday Styling and Gift Ideas, and we are still a few weeks out from Cyber Monday yet!
That brings me to Cyber Monday; these next few weeks are all about preparation. Getting our holiday bags up on current websites, trying out some new websites – sometimes begrudgingly on my behalf, merchandising and, of course, creating awareness is our main focus. Here’s the most recent promo image I created for our store on OpenSky:
But we can’t forget our brick and mortar boutiques. If in Chicago, stop by our holiday party at Spare Parts this Thursday with fashion blogger Forever Chic and jewelry designer Juliet Jewelry. Plus we are celebrating at pop-up boutiques with Milk Handmade at Block 37 and Anastasia in Hyde Park. For a list of all our retail outlets, click here.
